John Robert Hiatt (born August 20, 1952) is an American
singer-songwriter. He has played a variety of musical styles on his
albums, including new wave, blues, and country. Hiatt has been nominated
for nine Grammy Awards and has been awarded a variety of other
distinctions in the music industry. His career started playing with the
band White Duck, released his first solo album in 1974, wrote songs and
appeared in the band for Ry Cooder. Hiatt has built a steady body of
work, of which a selection is showcased on the 2LP John Hiatt
Collection. John Hiatt Collected features his songs "Riding
With The King", "Memphis In The Meantime", "Have A Little Faith In Me"
and other tracks from his early days up to his critically successful
days in the Eighties, Nineties and beyond.
