Jr. Thomas & The Volcanos debut album is a slice of classic Jamaican
music, born from the pure devotion of Minneapolis born
Singer-songwriter and producer Junior Thomas.
JT grew up listening to such Reggae greats as The Bleechers, Alton
Ellis, Dave Barker & The Wailers, and for his debut offering wanted
to produce a record that mined Reggae’s glorious late 60’s early 70s
sound. “I wanted to make a record that was honest and true to the golden
era of Jamaican music” says Thomas.
Beware was recorded at reggae producer Brian Dixon’s Volcano Lounge
studio in Los Angeles with a collective of Southern Californian Reggae
musicians, many of which had previously collaborated with Reggae legends
and contributed to all star projects such as Jimmy Cliff’s 2012 Grammy
award winning album Rebirth.
